Jamie Vermillion from Tri-County High School has a personal best of 133 feet 9 inches in the Discus throw. I caught up with her at a track meet in Albia earlier this week.
Vermillion (after minutes of contemplation) thought it would be safe for me to get into the throwing circle. I didn't disappoint, throwing the discus about 40 feet. Watch the video to get a few tips from a pretty good prep star on how to throw the discus.
